떡볶이 Ddeokbokki

Ok NOW then I realised my spelling for ddeokbokki was, always wrong. xD Why make a food's name so complex!! So many "d" and "k".

Googled the ingredients and steps to make a decent one. Seems pretty easy. But I never quite like following cookbook so I hope it turns out well this Saturday.

Mad delicious looking ddeokbokki to DIE for.

That said, here are the ingredients I'm gonna prepare (or at least imagined myself throwing in):

- Rice cake (that's ddeokbukki itself, if you don't what it is, dimwit)

- Hot chilli paste (can be suicidal hot, I read. So this one must be careful)

- Carrots slices

- Cabbage (optional)

- Red chili

- Pork slices (optional)

- Chicken stock / Dried anchovies stock (depending on availability)

- Garlic (would love to throw a few cloves inside, but knowing it's not acceptable by majority mankind, I've gonna give this a miss)

Pretty hassel free huh? Not too sure if I'll get the taste correct or not. Update with pictures soon I hope!

P.S. Though I could escape from xmas gift exchange tradition but it seems like it's unavoidable. ROARS!! Hates gifts shopping. Hmpf. So little time!

Afterall, SS501 is very well know for them being sincere, so much so I magnify their every action, hoping to sense sincerity in everything they do. And I refuse to let my standard drop. (Should it even drop in the first place?)

Digress. KDT called to confirm my reservations. (1st time people go fine dining so let me rant about it k?) Cas was saying they will need a minimum spending of $100 PER pax to dine in the restaurant. I nearly died. Read on.

Not quite because of the money. Frankly, I usually set aside $100 odd budget for my gf's birthday so it's fine. But looking at the menu, each dish cost average of $25. Meaning to say, we have to clear 4 dish per person??!!??

Right. Maybe 3 dish + 1 drink. Still, it's too much for a girl, no? Especially when we are both 1) on diet and 2) realised we no longer eat as much as we were younger. (which was why we decided to not go for hotel buffet anymore and opt for the more.. dainty cuisines) Or, we have to order something higher priced which may not be what we feel like eating? Damn sian lor like that.

Well thankfully, the minimum spending wasn't true. Heh.

At the same time, I read even more feedback on their exorbitant pricing, so-so cuisine, mostly 1 star out of 5. Sian. -_-" Don't care lah, I already ask that girl not to pin too much hope on the food, pay attention on the atas environment.

Haven't been sleeping well lately, thus the shoutout. Was having moodswing yesterday. No, not the monthly-affair-moodswing. It's just-moodswing-moodswing, you roger? Mine usually last for half a day, yesterday's one lasted for some good 24 hours. Bah. Chi and Von suggested chocolate which unfortunately, I don't have any in office. Nearest store that sells tidbits? Too far.

Thought the moodswing will cease today. Fine. Somehow, it did. But the weariness came. So much so I couldn't even bring myself to "wear" the mask I usually wore to smile at people. The face was as shitty than shit itself, if you saw me walking along the streets of Orchard 9:30 in the morning.

On a side note, I've cut my hair! If you've followed my blog for long enough, you'd have knew that I'm always a long hair. (Still is)

It became my goal to have my hair lengthed 100cm before I chop it off. Or, not any time earlier than Meanie's big day. That's like, March next year. But it's no surprise, I've been ranting about cutting my hair short (shorter?) since early this year. The last time I measured how long was my hair, was 3 months back? Tape showed +/- 70cm..

That length was like, easily around my hip.<

And I cut it till....

This short? It's sitting somewhere slightly below the shoulder now. Much as I would LURRRVE to chop it way shorter, I heard devils (or angels?) telling me "Don't! Don't do it!! Short hair doesn't suits you!!"

Damn you.

Ok I confess, those damn devils are the honest feedbacks I got from friends. And I jolly well know my effing round face doesn't compliment short hair. Or the other way round. Whatever.

1 year of ranting to cut my hair short, it didn't work. Instead, it took me no longer than 30 seconds to tell my stylist, "Ok, let's do it."

Me: Feel like cutting my hair. Should I?

Stylist: CUT IT!!!
Me: Don't say cut just because you stylist have the fetish for cutting long hair short! (They do!)
Stylist: No. I mean it.
Me: How short do you think I should go?
Stylist: This short *gestures* Then the bottom part you can *gesture* curve in.
Me: *smiles* That's exactly what I'm thinking. Ok let's do it."

2 of us can clear a 4 person's portion. With lil' leftover that is.

So this was where my bro and his fiancee went - Mario's Kitchen. While Jin's deli had shifted, we had to choose another alternative which was orginally some hainanese steamboat located somewhere in... Goldenmile? I forgotten.

That girl was worried I might not like the choice there due to my fussiness so we changed to Mario's Kitchen at Liang Seah street. Korean cuisine can't go too far from our liking so kamsahamnida it shall be.

Dunno what's wrong with this siao charbor, keeping wanting to take pictures with the spoon. Very nice meh? Then again, my friends are never normal. Because I like them abnormal.

We ended up at "Ji De Chi" (direct translation: remember to eat. I know it's weird) after some bit of shopping to digest our food. We were awfully full I tell you...

I wanted to blog about my climb, BUT I forgot to upload the montaged pictures to photobucket so... shall blog about something random then!

Remember I was saying I wanted to paint my nails black? Well it eventually turned out to be this:

Metallic-granny-pink with nail stickers and blings. I bought this colour years back and regretted buying it because it looked quite awful on me so pretty much it was left to grow dust until that faithful day.

Amazingly quite nice leh this time I try! Prolly because I've gotten at least 2 shades darker than before thus I can sorta carry off this metallic pink already. (funny thing I realised is I like to see colors on my nail whenever my exam period comes near)

Then I played with my long-time-never-touch decos and tadaaah! That's what we have - a buang masterpiece. Crappy because I was sooooo in need for the loo and couldn't wait anymore. And so I went to pee with my half dried nails, unbuckle my short's buttons... and.. and.. and... oh, I can't bring myself to continue! It's too antagonising. What could be worst than a destroyed nail art you tell me?!?!?! *bimbo*

OH.MY.GOD MY MUM BOUGHT ME WAGYU BEEF.

For those of you who dunno wth is a wagyu beef and hence my exclamation - read here.

I'm telling you lor, the steaks cost about $70 bucks per se. Imagining eating out there. Can easily shoot up to $120 and above. I luuuuuurve quality beefs!

Pardon me for the blurry picture. 1) I was too impatient to attempt for a better shot, 2) No amount of pictures taken by my Canon Ixus 75 (I know, lkk already) will do justice to the beef's succulence.

(Shit, I suddenly remembered I should have savoured them with my bottle of red wine! Wasted. Tsk!)

K lah, mum got it at a cheaper price because of staff purchase and intelligently, she had the excess fats sliced off thus saved abit more. (the prices go by per 100 gram) Mua ha ha ha.

And the funniest thing is, my religion (particularly my dad) does not allow us to eat beef. Let alone bringing beef back to eat. Half of the time I was in cold sweat while my mum cooked the steak, discreetly. I mean, my dad's too smart be kept in the dark anyway.

Was telling my colleagues that I fear my dad will divorce my mum because of this. LOL. Hello, this was the first time my mum brought beef back and we ate it under the same roof as my dad k! Homicide can happen anytime I tell you! Wah piang oei~

Nevertheless the fear were well worthed. IT WAS MAD TASTY. The steak was good even thou my mum had one piece slightly overdone (for my liking). It was still tender like chicken breast meat. Surprisingly. The medium done one literally "melted" in my mouth omg I went spastic.

You know? S-P-A-S-T-I-C. Ser-pah-steak!!! SPASTIC!!!! I'm sure you can feel what I'm trying to make you feel. No?

Having tried that, I vowed not to eat other steak unless it's wagyu or black angus or by any chance, quality beefs (reads: mtfk expensive!). Hmpf! Those out there are craps lor. Crap crap crap.

It didn't occur to me that the last time I met Meanie was at least 3 months back when she still had her locks. That faithful day when I saw her she told me she had it chopped off for more than a month already.

Ironically, she lives like 2 block? Or 3, away from me only. And we see each other only after decades.

'neeways, she brought me to Togi (I was complaining about my craves for kimchi before she went to konnichiwa-land) where we were all hungry and salivating from the succulence of the bbq meats.

Mashisoyo (delicious) !!!!~

(btw, I hated her for 3.726 seconds because she wanted the doneness of the beef medium well. damn tough can??!)

Their spicy soup is a must-try I feel. I mean, the restaurant's food were all delicious but I personally liked the soup for it's uniqueness. There's this very strong taste of egg in it. Not that I'm particularly in love with eggs but.. Aiya dunno how to tell you all lah. Just go there and try it out yourself.

Price is rather reasonable as far as I'm concerned. For that table to delicacies, we each spent about $35. Quite worth it for a once in awhile pampering.

About to eat ourselves silly.

Don't expect me to remember the exact names but we had:
