Am watching the match between Wang Nan and Guo Yue now.
Wang Nan's leading with a score of 3 - 2 which brings the 2 players to their 6th round.
Li Jia Wei had lost her match to Zhang Yi Ning (expected) earlier on which left the only medal - bronze, for her to work on.
You see, now my concern is Guo Yue (world rank #2) is actually losing to Wang Nan, who ranks 5th in the list.
Guo Yue's supposed to be stronger than Wang Nan. But from the way they played, it kinda seems that Guo Yue is "giving in" to Wang Nan, losing by merely 5 points.
(Ok, the match's completed. Wang advances to the finals. My guess was right)
Could it be one of China's strategy again?
Theoretically the stake for winning 3rd place is higher if our very own Li Jia Wei were to compete against Wang Nan.
But if Wang advances it'd means Guo, the supposedly stronger one - competes with Li.
Thus, their (China's) chances of securing the bronze medal is higher. Win liao lor lidat, China get to have all top three for themselves.
I'm gonna guess 1st to Zhang Yi Ning, 2nd to Wang Nan, and 3rd of course -- goes to Guo Yue.
But I'm crossing my fingers. Heart still goes to our very own Li Jia Wei nevertheless.
Sigh... if only Feng Tian Wei doesn't competes Zhang Yi Ning so soon and gets eliminated from the semi final. Else I think she stands a higher chance of securing our bronze.
