Makeup for men

That's one of the assigment I was partly busy with! To conclude the month of May, each of us was to submit 2 reports - one individual and one group assignment.

While the individual one was pretty a much fixed 4,000 words report, the group task is for us to do a presentation - again, anything under the sun. But anyone smart enough will know the topic will have to be related to the subject we were being taught lah.

So my groupmates (very nice) came up with the topic of personal grooming - for corporate presentation. To share information of what to take note when you, you and YOU are required to represent your corporation to do a formal presentation.

We were all limited to a 12 minutes presentation, so the messages has to be concised yet powerful.

One of the segment was a 4-step demonstration on makeup for men. Done by yours truly! Just as well, I can use this as my blogging material.

I'm proud to say, we did well. In fact I think we have done it beautifully. Totally proud of Joe, JJ and JT. Of course, with the credits of the very supporting and participative audiences as well.

And here's some screenshots of our slides!

JJ, my guinea pig. LOLLL.

So why makeup for men? Looking from the above, the right one looked more radiant isn't it?

What I'm saying is, men don't necessarily have to wear makeup such that it looks very wayang. But a soft touch of colors to make you look healthier and not ghastly when you are up the stage.

No need to put on any makeup because you got a flawless skin? Look at JJ, he's got flawless complexion too, but when compared to the one on the right, the left picture seemed more sickly.

Why do male celebrities need to put on makeup? Why do the bridegroom needs to put on makeup? No, not only it's to cover their flaws. The answer is: lighting.

When strong lighting shines on your face, it reduces the its color. Meaning if you were to go up the stage (usually with strong spotlights), your naked, au natural complexion would be a shade lighter and thus, ghastly - from the eyes of the audience.

That is why even for men, it is essential to add some colors to their complexion so as to look normal onstage. Furthermore, it's really quite hassel free you know? 4 steps and its done.

Note that I DO NOT mean men have to wear makeups every now and then.

Current new love!

WELL guess what? I'm gonna do my face masque later at home. Best part of this Artistry pore cleansing masque, it is heavenly scented. Makes me feel real relaxed while waiting for time to pass.

So relaxing I sometimes fall asleep unknowingly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is bad! Very bad! In fact, the consequences of you doing face masque, any face masque and falling asleep is DISASTROUS! And I mean d.i.s.a.s.t.e.r.o.u.s. with the capital D!

(Why so? Stay tune. I'll explain more to you guys in the review entry pretty soon ;p)

I wonder if it's the masque that is soothing or was it the scent that actually puts me to sleep...

With the facial steamer JJ helped me bought!

Fantastic 4 regime - the basic regime to adopt

I swear by the name of erm, my neighbour's plant, that I wanted to blog yesterday. But because I was pretty much hovering at Tampines 1, it was quite late when I finally settled down.

And so, here's the regime and product sharing I've promised!

While not all of us put on makeup to work everyday (considering I got more male readers here..), but the car exhaust, construction site's dust, air pollution, even bacteria - it all constitutes to dirt and accumulates on our face.

So like it or not, it is too, essential to use makeup remover even when you do not have any makeups on your face. Note that this is my own set of regime.

========================

Step 1) Remove exccessive impurities from face using Artistry's Gentle Action Makeup remover. Cream base; not greasy.

Photobucket

Marvellously gentle lotion that effortlessly removes stubborn make-up. Allergy and dermatologist tested, suitable for sesitive skin.

Step 2) Cleanse the face with Artistry essentials Balancing cleanser.

Photobucket

Natural cleansing agents gently whisk away excess sebum, dirt and debris without stripping the skin. This cleanser/exfoliator-in-one clears and clarifies as it evens tone and texture. Surface dullness is improved, leaving skin revived and refreshed immediately after cleansing.

Step 3) Using the Artistry essential Balancing toner to clean off any remaining impurities and, to close up the pores

Photobucket

This unique toner optimises the skin’s own ability to control oil throughout the day. Revealing clearer, smoother skin ready to receive the benefits of the Balancing Lotion, it leaves skin feeling refreshed, toned and with a fresh matte finish.

Step 4) Moisturise the face with Artistry essential Balancing lotion SPF 15

Photobucket

Unique micro-sponge and mattifying powders absorb excess oil and diminish shine, and oil production and balances moisture levels all day long. Enhancing the skin’s own natural protection mechanism, this lightweight lotion offers unparalleled protection to shield and defend from environmental assaults and UV rays with a patent-pending complex – Aura of Protection.

Psst.. I fell in love with my newly bought pore cleansing masque!

Busy and messy

Some of the pictures I've accumulated during the past few weeks. Quite rojak lah.

Annie dear came over to mine place for yours truly to makeup for her wedding lunch. Bringing along the Stage pretties I asked her to buy.

Photobucket

An eye primer + lipstick + blusher cost me $80 nett! How cheap is that? Considering some of the products are from France etc. Such price range is really a must stash I feel.

To add, Stage is giving a free eyeshadow or lipstick free for every $80 worth of purchase! That explains the free eyeshadows. And knowing my eccentricity for cosmetics, Annie dear gave me her's too.

Muaaaks lah.

My finished piece of work, acting chio... =.="' I'm so gonna get killed by her for saying this. :P

Photobucket

Piglet from Ting-er during meetup. Double muaaaks. Horrible woman finally added me to her facebook account. Took her forever to click that few buttons.

Photobucket

Lip bum from Joanne. Woots! I love lil' gifts.

To end, here's to show some of my battle-mates. It's kinda relieving (and heartwarming too!) to see so many of your classmates still actively on-line at some 2am in the morning... fighting the same battle as you are.

The shit moral

Some interesting stories I read from Joanne Peh's.

1) A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was.

The dung was actually thawing him out! Soon, a farmer passed by and heard the little bird chirping. Seeing the poor creature covered with dung, he decided to help the bird get out of the mess and placed it under a shrub.

By this time, the bird was feeling warm and chirpy. And A cat passing by heard the sounds, saw the bird and ate it up.

Moral of the story:

  • Not everyone who drops shit on you is your enemy.
  • Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
  • When you’re in deep shit, it might be better just to keep your mouth shut.

2) A turkey was chatting with a bull. “I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,” sighed the turkey, “but I haven’t got the energy.”

“Well, why don’t you nibble on some of my droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.”

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it actually gave him enough strength to reach the first branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.

Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story:

  • Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won’t keep you there.

3) A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A small rabbit saw the crow, and asked him, “Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?” The crow answered: “Sure, why not.”

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:

  • To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

4) A priest was driving along and saw a nun on the side of the road, he stopped and offered her a lift which she gladly accepted. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to open and reveal a lovely leg.

The priest had a look and nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun looked at him and immediately said, “Father, remember psalm 129?” The priest was flustered and apologized profusely. He forced himself to remove his hand.

However, he was unable to remove his eyes from her leg. Further on, while changing gear, he let his hand slide up leg again. The nun once again said, “Father, remember psalm 129?” Once again the priest apologized.

“Sorry sister, but the mind is weak.” Arriving at the convent, the nun got out, gave him a meaningful glance and went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to retrieve a bible and looked up psalm129. I

It said, “Go forth and seek; further up, and you will find glory.”

Morale of the story:

  • Always be well informed in your job; Or you might miss a great opportunity.

Tips for Double eyelids

Hello people I'm back! Ok, I wasn't exactly away.. But my reports and group projects killed a huge part of me and my youth. Today is D-day. Everything ends here.

My 4,000 words report, the lesson log, the group work, the peer assessment - all ends today.

I should be happy but no. The end of this only leads to a more horrendous, new beginning. Msn nick reads, Lady Jinxed - bradford tortures their part-time students.

Anyway, some interesting tips I've read from Andy Lee's makeup blog! I've personally try some tapes for eyelids, but problem is, the color of eyeshadow cannot be applied on the tape such that there is this ugly looking shape of the tape after I do my eye makeup!

So I guess looking for the correct tape is critical over here. Must get those that eyeshadow can go over with. The ones shown in Andy Lee's looks paper-liked to me. Those I got are plastic ones and pretty much collecting dust on my vanity table.

P.S. I'm a double eyelid. Just hoping I have a deeper one hence I tried the tapes.

Quick updates!

The weather is scorching hot I'm getting very pek chek.

I got class later. Econs. I'm dead. So dead.

I dread econs. I can never comprehen the relationship between demand and supply.

Lesson starts from 3:30pm to 6:30pm at Unicampus. Horrible timing. Horribly far place. And then it's back to assignmenting again.

My lower teeth hurts. Cuz I went to tighten my braces this morning.

Dr Tan was chiding me for skipping the last visit, thus explains my gap, thus the pain. People whom wore braces before will know what I'm talking about.

Dad's whipping our dinner now. Lucky me will come home to see a table of yummilicious food. Although I might not be able to bite later because of the pain...

I realised some interesting comics are out. I want to get them.

Have to leave home by 2.15pm or so.

I got to go get prepared. Else I'll run late for class later. Again.

Am always late for Saturday classes.

Bye bye love.

Need to get a new mobile phone!

My HTC is dying on me. Soon enough.

Like, the battery goes flat every 2 days. Reads the lifespan of battery is ending.

Been ranting to get one months back but the recent phones are.... undesirable. All touch screens. Either that or it's damn dua bong (huge/bulky) or that it's hideous looking.

Huh lah, I know, technology mah. I suaku can? I like normal stylish ones WITH KEYPAD. My HTC which is also a touch screen, without keypad, sometimes test my patience so much I feel like binning it away.

Well, I saw this thou! Pretty. Red color somemore. (i'm sure most of you would have known my favourite color is red and not pink by now. Althou' I won't mind a pink phone lah..)

Photobucket

8mp camera. Better than my canon ixxy. Problem is, it's Samsung. I don't really trust Samsung nor have I used it. I'd have settle for it if it's Sony Erisson.

Ehhh... I haven't check out the price for this Samsung Ultra Slim also lah. Must be quite hefty considering it's quite new...

Take away the brand Samsung and it sounds like a sanitary pad. Dunchu think so? Prolly the next few generations will have key names like Wings, Ultra Thin, Carefree... Ok ignore me, I'm morbidly tired.

So, anyone got better recommendations not more than $290? No candy bar and touch screens please.

I feel like changing my no. again... XD Current number's been with me for I dunno, 3 years?

P.S. THIS IS A FUCKING FUCK WEEK. IT FEELS LIKE FOREVER. EVERYDAY IT'S RUSH AND NOT ENOUGH SLEEP.

I GOT HEADACHE.

Redang (part II)

Ok, here are some of the pictures we've taken for Redang!

Random, not in any accordance of order.

(Click for larger image)

Photobucket

Good morning Redang! No, it's not sunset my dear.

Photobucket

And, those taken underwater.

Photobucket

I wasn't in the pictures because I practically hyperventilated when I know my feets couldn't touch the ground. So? I snorkled in shallow water and played with the fishes.

Hey fishy fishy fishy...

Did I mentioned I was "kissed" by a fish? I didn't wanna use the word "bitten" because it's not that serious afterall.. A quick nib' on my ankle by this dunno what breed of fish because I jolly well didn't see it.

Screaming like a bimbo whole damn time I decided to call it quits after being "kissed" for the second time. LOL.

I think the fishes likes me thou. Else why would it kiss me right? ;Þ

Also, sharks like me too! While most of them only managed to see 1 to 2 baby sharks swimming around, yours truly managed to see at least 4 of em' swimming in circles!

Needless to say, I freaked out lah... they swam past me and appeared an arm's length away I thought I'd die like, anytime.

OK I KNOW IM SUCH A WIMP. Enough!

JT, room's pictures at your request~

We had a quad room and was spacious enough with decent balcony.

Photobucket

Again, the scenary. Wouldn't do justice to Redang if I don't show more of their scenaries.

Photobucket

Signing off, abruptly. Loves.

Yes I know its passe. No I'm not harping on how un-S the girls are.

If you think the article was somewhat funny, then you've yet seen the funniest.

Drivers take note!

Be patient with my "Fantastic 4" regime. Cuz I've yet got the time to sit down and type an entry about that. (work and studies driving me nuts yal'noe?)

Meanwhile, footage of real car accidents in Singapore. Some are really quite daunting, can literally see the driver flew out.

For those of you who drive, do be careful!

Coming up: Beauty regime all should adopt - The fantastic 4

Female zookeeper almost raped by... A CHIMPANZEE

Which is worst? Raped by a man or a chimpanzee?

Ok, both are equally shitty. But can you imagine a chimp tries to rape you? And he breaks your wrist for that?

Omg how horny can he get?

Well, here is the article, via TheSun:

"The lusty ape, called Otello, broke the horrified keeper’s wrist as he pulled her into his cage and began to attack her."

Next time go zoo must be careful. You'll never know if the chimpanzee will take you as some playboy sex object...

Oh I forgot to add.

For those suaku who dunno.

Yes yes yes. Ah Mas has been captured in JB after a year's escaped. Thank god my JB trip tomorrow was cancelled. I got a feeling there's gonna be a horrid jam.

In crisis of the pandemic Influenza A (H1N1)

READ IT YOU PEOPLE! CLICK TO ENLARGE THE IMAGE, OPEN EYE BIG BIG AND READ.

Photobucket

Received this from my school and I hope I'm not against the school policy in sharing the information with my readers..

Anyway it concerns the whole human population so I see no reason why I shouldn't share it. Since I've already informed my colleagues already.

Tsk, I'm so nice. Like, the nicest girl in the wholewideworld. I love my readers.

Do take care y'all. Take more vitamin C hor!!

I love my lovelies, they get me the pretties.

Photobucket

A big kiss to arh nee for helping me get my pretties! Can't wait for Sunday! It's gonna be HELL SCANDALOUS. Lol. Imagine the things we can do in my room. And my queen sized bed..

*ahem*

=================================

On a side note, I need to get individual lashes.

Like this:

These are the knot-free ones. Will need those with knots for amateur like me.

Photobucket

Gonna play with them. Which means I really need to get a pair of good tweezers in order not to spoil these pretties. Teeheehee.

Ah mean! Remember my tonnes of falsies from konnichiwanihaoma land! The more the merrier ok?! I want drama mama ones too! I lub you many²! Meet you when you're back for kamsanghamida food. Need to pass you the tees also.

Oh, along the way are my skincare product, supplement and eyeliner. I could probably do a consolidated entry on:

1) Redang trip
2) JT's photoshoot
3) Blogshop models photoshoot
4) My Stage pretties
5) My false pretties
6) My eye pretties
7) My artistry pretties
8) My nutrilite healthcare

Hmmm.. looks quite impossible to squeeze them all into an entry isn't it? See how lah. I'll be busy preparing to enter torture chamber (Jinx's jargon reads: examinations/exam hall. Geddit?) by the time I get hold of all those pretties.

Cheers from Vanity-heals,
Jinxed

P.S. darlings, Uniqlo (in Singapore's Tampines 1) really ain't no big deal at all. I don't understand what's with all the insane bouleversement and people mad-jamming that place. The guys ones are still acceptable, but the female ones... *snorts*

Smoky eyes

I just came back from office albeitt it's Labour's day today,
I should be resting after a long day,
I'm supposed to be reading my novel or comics...

Photobucket

But I went to play with my makeups instead. Hah!

Photobucket

I know, I look like ridiculously funny.

But it is indisputable that my right eye looked twice as big as my left. It looked slanted. This is the effect I wanna show you guys, how such smoky effect can create a huge difference and make wonders to small eyes.

The bigger picture may not seem as obvious. So I deliberately resized it smaller. Try look from afar, you can see the difference between the eyes. If you can't, I'm pretty sure you're quite blind already.

Photobucket

Close up.

Photobucket

Photobucket

A seemingly simple eye job actually takes a whole load of effort.

I'd say it's takes the longest time among the whole makeup.

The dotted line shows where I actually applied my eyeshadow till. (I know I fucking look like a cock-eyed doodle but try looking into the camera upfront, it's really difficult not to become cock-eyed ok?!)

Photobucket

*laughs at my own cock-eye*

Damn disturbing lah!

So for those amateurs out there, applying eyeshadow around your eye socket will show no color after you open them. The color simply gets "eaten" up.

You'll have to keep on applying them till it reaches somewhere slightly below the brow bone. That's the woes of asian eyes.

=============================

I mentioned in the beggining of this entry - I'm supposed to be reading my comics.

On a random note, how many of you know I read comics? And I've been reading rather complex ones at the age of 10.

Gone were Doremon, Dragon balls and Master Q when I turned primary 4.

I began reading those that my brothers are reading.

Photobucket

A small little collection of mine.

Started off with my brother and I continued the line.

Having said that, those of you that read "Dear Boys", for your information, Act II is officially history.

We are entering Act III where the first few books will touch on the finals and evolution of the 3rd Generation of the Mizuho boys.

Photobucket

Omg I CANNOT wait. Seems to me the 3rd Generation is going to have hellota conflicts but with the guidance of their senpai, I'm sure they're gonna create a ledgendary result yet again!!!!

Only cue is I dunno how long is it going to take to complete the series. Oh well, it's been accompanying me for so long anyway..

=============================

Random.

Gotten myself 2 lip palettes at $22 each from Sasa. 5 colors in 1 palette.
