Me no like May one least bit

Yeah, am still harping on how survival-unfriendly the month of May is.

Despite I just came back from paradise.

And yes I'm not stopping myself from ranting in all possible means. Friends, blogs, skype, msn, anything. It's devastating to even plot my calendar.

May is literally inhumane! Outrageous! Ridiculous!

I think that is an understatement.

Lessons combining with office shifting is really no fun. Nah uh. My PH got burnt. My off-in-lieu there are classes. So really, May is stupidly insane with no best solution for time management I'm getting really really pissed with that.

The luckier weeks, I'll get to have an average of 2 rest days.

The unluckier ones, average of 1 rest day which is Sunday. That, I foresee will be used to chiong my whatever needs to be done for the assignments.

There are 2 assignment submission in that sinister month.

Ok, back to the happier ones. Kymmy's gotten the set of pictures from another friend so it's quite completed already. Synchronising the pictures from her is the main problem because I'll be too worn out to go online after class.

Anyway I'll tell you lovelies about the trip as soon as I can. You guys should really visit there. I'm suffering from post Redang syndrome.

Did I mention office is mad-messy? All the cartons and ding-dangs are driving me nuts.

Seriously.

Back from More More Tea Inn!

I'm back people!!

Redang is awesome I tell you! Very very very very very very very x 85,763,415 beautiful place!

We saw baby sharks and dory and pomfret! They saw beautiful corals and nemo and many more!

Ok, since I do not have the time to blog about the details yet and also the pictures are not entirely consolidated, I shall post a slideshow of some scenic ones for the time being.

With "浪花一朵朵" as the background music that it!

Gotta go! Busy busy busy! It sucks to be back to this uber fast-paced country where Redang is nothing but slow and relax.

Omg please take me away from reality. I wanna live in the world of procrastination!

I'm leaving on a jet plane blardy 9 hours bus journey

Photobucket

All my bags are packed

I'm ready to go

I'm standing here outside your door

I hate to wake you up to say goodbye

But the dawn is breaking

It's early morning

The taxi's waiting

He's blowing his horn

Already I'm so lonesome

I could die (from happiness)

So kiss me and smile for me

Tell me that you'll wait for memy souvenir

Hold me like you'll never let me go

'cause I'm leaving on a jet planeblardy coach

Don't know when I'll be back againI'll be back on Monday

Got S, but no C

S stands for those whatever terms they claimed in the MediaCorp's channel 5 program "S-factor" and C stands for "class", based on the below written.

And no I do not watch the "S-factor". =__= In case you are wondering.

This article from MyPaper is wicked funny!

Well I'm sure not all the drop-dead contestants are as bad as what it seems.

Some of you really unfairly blessed with excellent brains and hawt bods.

Well most of you, I would say, are blessed with an equilibrium of beauty and knowledge. That's normal.

Some are extremely smart, but, ummm... prolly not as attractive on the majority's scale?

However, some had also proven the pragmatic truth of "beauty but no brains"?

Oh, correct me if I'm wrong. But you call that "bimbo". No?

Of course, there's the term for he-bimbo, called "himbo". And the worst of all mankind - those that doesn't look good and yet behaves like a bimbo or himbo.

"Dumbo" I call them.

Cropped out the gist of the article for your convenience of reading.

Photobucket

*ROFL*

I guess what she probably didn't want to be too conceited and in turn gives a generic answer that says, "I THINK everyone stands a good chance of winning in their own unique way including me. So I really can't tell what are my chances".

That's my opinion lah, from the way I see it.

I've read her blog no doubt. Pretty girl with lotsa photographs and boobs. I'm in no position to criticise one's command of English because I ain't any better off from time to time.

But I definitely do not blog like that...

Photobucket

"When I happy my eyes will tell others okay, I'm happy. Then, when I'm sad, I will be crying."

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm trying to solve the daxueshavinci code, with loads and loads of roaring laughs! I dunno why but that really sounds very very uber, extremely hilarious to me!

*clears throat* ok, maybe she's saying that her eyes sparkles when she's happy, so much so, that people can feel her joyness. And that she's a crybaby perhaps?

That sounds perfectly ok to me. If it was said to a friend or in private. But publicly? That I'm not so sure...

Let's give people the benefit of doubts, she probably didn't had much time to phrase herself in the most appropriate way because the interview was too sudden?

"I like to play naughty with the guys... maybe use my eyes to give electricity."

That's totally broken (english)! But oh well, it can be quite correct if translated to Chinese though!

But sayang, that's an English program, direct translation aren't quite understood by the jiat kentang (reads: eat potato aka english spoken or educated) or westerners you know?!

Very corny too! Definitely not Sexy, if that's what the "S" stands for~! Nevertheless, clap clap for her courage to say the sentence in such a tak-glam way! Woohoo!!

Sighs. I wish there are more articles like that. Damn entertaining.

More cannibalism

Disclaimer: Contains extremely gruesome photographs at the end of blog entry. View it at your own risk. I am most definitely not accountable for.

Sibling cannibalism

"...Yes, we've decided to eat him. I did not want to return behind the bars, so we have cut off his head and buried it and the body have cut in parts and kept in a refrigerator,' Timur reportedly said...

...We have been cooking and eating his meat for six months,' he added... "

Which got me googling for more.

Spouse cannibalism

Source

"father eat the flesh off their dead mother's face on Friday morning...

...There, he suddenly choked and became unconscious and died..."

That's what I call, retribution. Kudos!

Cannibalism through internet advert

Source

"...even though the victim allegedly volunteered for his fate by replying to an internet advert...

...I had the fantasy, and in the end I fulfilled it," he said. The fantasy first developed between the ages of eight and 12, he added..."

Netizens, be afraid. Be very afraid...

Little girls cannibalism

Source

"...kidnapped girls aged between four and seven years old, molested and murdered them. In some cases he ate parts of their bodies, in others he slept next to their corpses...

...Miyazaki’s defence rested in the argument of his lawyers that he was not mentally fit to be held responsible for his crimes..."

Asshole.

Issei Sagawa - the "godfather of cannibals"

Go google his name. I'm sure there's tonnes of information about him.

That above term, was a self proclaimed one.

I've read articles of him years back. And there actually are people who idolises him. Not me of course. I just find the happenings amazing, albeit disgusting.

Ok, here comes the true and gruesome photographs I mentioned at the beginning of this entry.

Ready?

Storing these pictures itself makes me wanna puke. I'll delete them after one week which might affect the few shown above. But you can still find them in google, if you are keen that is.

Insane people driving people insane

School experienced short circuit hence lesson was cancelled on last Friday.

There'll be a replacement for that.

Saturday, when most of us reached school, class was announced cancelled.

Again.

There will be a replacement for that, too.

And this is what happened:

Plus, we got 2 assignments to hand up on May.

Photobucket

*clap clap*

Well done.

We are officially Ironmen and Ironwomen.

I do not like the month of May.

Because it coincides with the moving of my office.

It's gonna be chaotic. For me. At least.

P.S. Hey, my title reads the same forward and backward! Imma genius.

Frogs, they eat insects right?

Turtle, they eat.. I dunno, seaweeds? Leaves? Or maybe moss?

Not anymore.

Review: Eyeshadow applicator

While I washed my applicators, I noticed the difference in quality. The one on the left was bought from "ta-chiang". Credits goes to annie whom sms-ed me the information.

The one on the right was from Daiso. Both retailing at about the same price. In fact, the one I bought from "ta-chiang" was 10 cents cheaper, at $1.90.

Photobucket

As you can see, the one on the right (from Daiso) - its sponge was peeling despite my first time washing it. Whereas the one on the left (from "ta-chiang") looked intact. The sponge looked much denser and cushiony too.

True enough, my recollections tells me the one from "ta-chiang" seemed much more user friendly. I tried to google the outlets of "ta-chaing" for you all's convenience but expectedly, there wasn't any results.

So, for those of you who desperately wants to get better grade eyeshadow applicators, there's "ta-chaing" outlet in respectively tampines (interchange) and bugis (somewhere along the Guanyin temple), that's about all I know.

Oh and to add, they run out of stock rather fast. So I usually grab 2 sticks (there are about 5-6 applicators where u can stack them neatly into a single stick) whenever I see any. Typical of me.

Not too sure if Aries outlets or other accessories shops are selling these but well, there's no harm trying! But do note, I got mine at $1.90. So no point getting them if the stack of applicators are selling above $2.50 or so lah huh... albeit merely 60 cents difference but still, times are bad! Recessions are everywhere!

Ok, random pictures.

My favourite! Racer tank tops! I owned at least 20 racer tank tops now I guess. Cotton somemore! Me like!! Can you imagine I wear them even to work? But I'll need to pull on a blazer lah..

Photobucket

Blue! I grabbed BLUE color. Can you believe it? I never had any thing in blue. At most turquoise, but never blue. Simply because I can nevar, nevar evar seem to carry off the color (and orange color too =____= ). Dunno why. But I grabbed these nevertheless.

Photobucket

That's Illuma. At bugis. For those of you who don't know.

Photobucket

With probably the longest flight of escalator.

Photobucket

Quite spacious to my liking actually. BUT! The air conditioning was insanely cold I wonder why. Retail shops there aren't too much of a difference from the norm of Singapore malls, reminds me of the concept of Cineleisure.

By the way, the cinema there isn't Golden Village nor Cathay nor Eng Wah nor Shaw, it's Filmgarde.

The infamous Tampines 1 that drove the entire tampines community crazy.

Photobucket

Everysinglemuthafker was going there and it caused human jam I tell you.

Like I had said, my first 2 attempt there failed. Not because of the shops that drew my attention, but because I heard there's in-built swimming pool there! So I want to kpoh lah!

Ah nee said I looked very tourist-ish snapping the pictures of malls and she's going ignore me. So I only quick quick took a significant one. The top floors looked quite posh from the outside isn't it!?

X-men origins: Wolverine

Disclaimer: Contains wee bit of spoiler.

I'll keep this as brief as possible. Watched it. Ummm, the odd-der version I'd say. It was a mistake watching it cuz' that wreaked all my enthusiasm in the X-men series. Nevertheless, I'm still going to spend my 10 bucks watching in cinema when the movie screens.

Having said that, the plot itself was okaaay. Not very exciting in comparison to the previous few X-men series we've watched in cinemas. Perhaps it's due to inadequate mutants shown in the movie? Only a few are focused on.

Now coming to the slightly more exciting part - the hunks. Ryan Reynolds, of course Hugh Jackman. And even Daniel Henny was in the movie as Agent Zero! Damn I couldn't recognise him. I swear he blardy looked familiar to me but I simply couldn't distinguish where I've seen the former. Then voila! He's the hottie from the Korean serial drama, My name is Kim Sam Soon.

There was a major disappointment where Ryan Reynolds' apprearence in the movie was less than enough. I'd say he'd probably appeared, less than 5 times in the movie? Ok, make that, appeared less than 5 times in the movie with his ORIGINAL LOOK. Nuff' said. Even Daniel Henny's scenes were more then his.

P.S. I was perpetually crying when I saw the NEW look of Ryan Reynolds. He looked hideous omg I'm tearing again! Boohoohoo!

Hugh Jackman? The usual. Fiery tempered and all. Nothing too interesting except unleashing bits and pieces of his past.

If you ask me, I'll rate it 5/10. 6 outta 10 if there's more Ryan Reynolds. 7 if Daniel Henney wasn't a baddie. Hee.

That's all. I'm done. Go spend your 10 dollars on April 29th.

Optimal time to sleep

Awhile back, a friend told me the best set of rest is from 10pm to 3am. That is where you get quality sleep.

A personal-trusted blog (which I'm addicted to read everyday aside from XiaXue's) further vouched for what my friend said.

Lemme see... I usually tug in at earliest around 11pm (and wakes up at 7am), IF my insomnia doesn't haunt me that is.

Question is, how many of you actually sleep by 10pm everyday?

Unlikely I guess. I think 10pm is probably the time we reach home for some days. Maybe even later.

Like it or not, our biological clock is made best to sleep at 10pm. Meaning, beauty sleep ain't one if you sleep later than that.

For busy adults like us, there's nothing much we could do but to feel exasperated. Well, in that case, let's just make one day, the day for beauty sleep shall we? One day is better than none...

To uphold my self-created philosophy of vanity-heals, I'm gonna try it every Monday. Starting from today onwards.

"...most of you are probably thinking that it doesn't matter what time you sleep as long as you achieve 8 hours of rest right? Well, unfortunately no..." (Read more from Viva Woman)

"...because our body was designed to sync with the cycle of nature - including daylight and darkness...." (Read more from Viva Woman)

Conclusion is, say if we are to sleep from 2am till the next day 2pm (that's a good 12 hours!), it wouldn't beat sleeping from 10pm to 3am (5 hours)!

That's unfair!

Dear Mother nature,
Can you like delay the optimal time till 12am or something lidat? I bet most of us will be grateful!?

Rdgs,
Jinxed

Random

First attempt to Tampines 1 - FAILED

Second attempt to Tampines 1 - FAILED

I went to Illuma at Bugis. Freezing cold in there.

I watch X-Men origins: Wolverine already. I know it's not out in the cinemas yet, don't ask me how I managed to watch it.

In memory of A Sang

I'm sure most k-ster have at least sang this song once. Very popular amongst people who frequent the ktv.

The last time I sang the song was 26th March.

The original singer, A Sang, passed away 2 days ago, on the 6th of April.

She will be missed by many.

More info via http://www.cruzteng.com/2009/04/06/rip-a-sang/

Do's and Don'ts for Healthy-Looking Skin

Do:
Avoid the sun. Nothing is more damaging to your skin than UV exposure. It sets off a chain of adverse and cumulative reactions that lead to wrinkles, discoloration, loss of tone, and dehydration. Whenever you're outdoors, even if you're just running errands or strolling through the park, use a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15.

Drink plenty of water. Proper hydration is essential for flushing out impurities, fostering the development of new cells and enhancing circulation. Try to drink six-to-eight glasses a day.

Sleep well. Nighttime is the right time for skin. That's when cells get busy renewing themselves and repairing the day's damage. A minimum of seven to eight hours of sleep each night is ideal. Any less and your skin will wear the signs of fatigue.

Eat right. You truly are what you eat, so it stands to reason that the better your diet, the better your skin will look. A healthy diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, fish and complex carbohydrates is recommended for most people. Check with your doctor to determine if you should make special dietary adjustments, or take vitamin or mineral supplements.

Stay fit. Regular exercise keeps your heart and your muscles fit. It also keeps your skin in shape by revving up your circulation, which eliminates toxins and promotes a healthy glow. Experts recommend a minimum of 20 minutes of aerobic exercise each day to maintain your current weight and fitness levels; 30 minutes or more to lose weight and improve your conditioning. Walking, running, biking, swimming and dancing are all excellent aerobic activities.

Don't:
Smoke. Smoking destroys the underlying structure of the skin, which quickly leads to premature aging. It creates wrinkles and destroys elasticity. The repetitive physical action of smoking creates lines around the mouth. Over time, smoking causes skin to thicken and discolor.

Drink too much alcohol or caffeine. Moderation is everything when it comes to caffeine and alcohol. For example, a glass of wine is relaxing, but too much wine dehydrates your system, robs you of vital nutrients and may interrupt healthy sleep patterns. Caffeine actually functions as a diuretic and may prevent you from getting enough rest.

Stress out. Even if you try to appear calm, cool and collected, stress has a way of making its presence known. Anxiety leads to a number of surface manifestations, including blemishes, hives, impaired circulation, itching, irritation and under-eye circles. So relax! Adopt sensible time management strategies, take up stress-busting activities like jogging, yoga or meditation, stay connected to friends and family and see your doctor or a counselor if your stress is getting the upper hand.

How frequent do you clean your brushes / applicators / cake?

Do you EVEN wash them in the first place? If you don't, you better do now.

Reason being because the brushes gets dirty and contains bacteria. Make sense, isn't it?

For my case, I normally wash my tools every 2 months or so, even for those I didn't use. That's because despite unused, dust and bacteria accumulates still and hell I do not wish to use them on my face.

On occasions that I used on models, I'll usually wash them after every use. Last thing I need is for people to come and complain to me they get rashes after using my product or service. Which I think most of you are likely to encounter that in studios where you do your makeover or portfoilo.

God knows how many faces has that particular brush been applied for and not washed. So I think it'll be good if you lovelies can bring along your own set of tools should you require studio makeovers or whichsoever.

My eyeshadow applicators.

Photobucket

Here's how I clean them (applys to brushes and powder cakes too) :

Step 1: Squeeze a favourable amount of facial cleanser into a container and mix with water.

Why facial cleanser and not hand wash or body shampoo? Simple. Since the tools are used for the face, then just use a facial cleanser to wash it clean lah!

The contents in hand or body wash might be too harsh and who knows whether or not it will cause irritation to our face. So, choose your trusted facial cleanser for your tools.

Step 2: Soak the applicators and rub it gently till you see the colors are slowly fading.

Gently. You wouldn't wanna tear the sponge of the applicator, dunchu?

Step 3: The water should be filty by now. Pour away the water and repeat Step 1 + 2.

Step 4: Rinse it with tap water.

Step 5: Lay a clean cloth (or tissue paper if you are not eco friendly) and place the washed applicator on top to air dry.

Usually I'll use 2 pieces of tissue paper to press on top of the applicator to ensure excess water are absorbed so as to speed up the drying process.

===================================

Via ivillage:

  • Wash your brushes thoroughly at least every three months. If someone else uses your brushes, wash them before using them again.
  • Use different brushes for light and dark shades of make-up. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to apply a light shade of eye shadow or blush and getting a darker smudge as a result of the last colour you used with the same brush.
  • There are professional brush cleaners on the market, but they can be harsh. To avoid irritation, use a daily cleanser or a mild washing up liquid to wash your brushes. This way, you're less likely to have an allergic reaction.
  • Reshape your brushes after washing and let them dry thoroughly before reusing them. If your bristles frizz and begin to shed, it's time to buy a new brush.
  • ======================================

Halfway unpack makeup box. Too lazy.

Plunging butterfly

Not surprised at all.

Photobucket

Her recent album is an utter disappointment. I wonder where has she set her focus on these days.

It seems like she's putting it alot of effort in her dancesteps (and venturing on other businesses) rather that the vocal; her hit songs were way beneath ideal. I'd say I'll most likely spend my moolahs on other new singers if that's the case.

Trying to penetrate into the Western's pop market? I seriously have my doubts. So what if she's dueted background vocal-ed for diva Kylie Minogue? She'd perish in no time if the company doesn't hold on to the existing Asian, die-hard fans.

That includes yours truly, whom fan-see her for the past decade.

Well several articles had reported that she's into her own line of fashion apparel "72 changes" recently, aside from the Art director of Opps!J. Probably she should stop singing already, rather than tarnishing her own reputation in the music industry which she built with so much effort.

Let's just pray hard her new company comes up with a better piece of work in future.

Makeover

Yes, lao niang is bery bery the tired.

Dropped by the stationary to get my fulscap paper and the lady boss said I look damn tired too. Making up for people can't be quite tiring you know...

BUT! It's a fulfilling trip made. The supposed 1 model turn out to be eventually 3 and I almost fainted because I wasn't mentally prepared for it. As far as I'm concern, I take waaaaay too long to complete one set of makeup so yeah, time pressure was the main factor that worries me.

Pictures hawt from the oven!!!

Photobucket

My first time meeting the team today (other then the photographer, Julian), thankfully they were all easy-going and co-operative so the entire time spent was very much enjoyable.

Oh, before I start, my 3 models were Shanel, Syndy and Ivy. Hadn't got any pictures of Syndy because the rest are prolly geared for the photoshoot and no one's got time to help me take mine. $%&#>*$

Sorry ah, I had to post the before pictures of you girls... Ivy and Shannel. 18 and 17 years old. That's like 7 years my junior ohmigod.

Review: Artistry skincare

Hello peeps! Right, I'm kinda watching the memorial of Leslie Chung while typing this and it's really easy for me to starting digressing....

Ok back to the subject. Being in the mid twenties would naturally means I'd need to take better care of my complexion. Which means, more investment in skincare products. While the skincare regime is pretty much fixed, it sets me sourcing for a trustyworthy brand to try on.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Anyways, got to know the brand Artistry through a classmate of mine while complaining my usual.

Well of course I had my reservations. That's when my classmate brought the experts to my place and murder me lemme try the products.

Not too bad actually! I fell in love with the makeup remover (almost immediately) and commanded my classmate to sell me on the spot. But he doesn't keeps stocks, have to take from the warehouse. Tsk!

Surprising enough, some people had been very selfish and not share about the goodness of it!! Because I went round asking and people are saying either they heard it is not bad or that they themselves thinks it's rather good.
Good things must share lah.. so stingy for what.

Lucky me, I got a free Artistry experience where I had the condition of my hair and complexion checked.

Photobucket

Gadgets used for the test. I swear I wanted to steal them there and then. Damn awesome! I can totally imagine using it to microscope everywhere. Maybe my toes or cellulites or something...

After which the consultant will advise which Artistry product you need to use.

Photobucket

Thing is, they do not hard-sell. They leave you to decide whether or not you are keen to purchase. Reckon they must have relevant confidence in their product to be not as pushy in comparison to the rest.

So, I never buy. Lol.

Nevertheless I went to their talk. Launch of new line call Essentials.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Entire function hall filled with people. Impressive.

AND!

I got their basic skin care set - Balancing system (for the oily/combination skin) :p

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Been using for a month odd already and honestly I don't see any changes in the controlling the amount of sebum produced. That's the bad news. Good news is, the product isn't too significantly irritating such that it causes rashes.

Quite soothing actually. Just that it doesn't makes me feel too much of a difference after using it.

Slightly sweet-scented for most products, but not overwhelming. So people with sensitive nose shouldn't worry much.

Price wise? Alot cheaper than brands you can think of (Clarins, Clinique, Ipsa, Kose, whichever). But definitely higher then other shelf brands.

Comfortable price range I should say. Starting from around 30 odd I think.

Was told that's because Artistry do not advertise their products therefore the reason why we consumers are not "charged for the advertising fee".

Sweet.

But the admirable part was the post purchase service. Distributors constantly ask for feedback and comes up with other ways and means to reduce unsatisfactory. For my case, the "fleet" of experts made another trip to my place and had another discussion with me.

Tsk tsk tsk. Sounds like we are talking business lidat. But half of the time I was lying on my back and being served.

Some deep pore cleansing face masque. Rather prickly when applied. Got better after 5 minutes or so.

Photobucket

Should have taken a before and after picture to should you guys the effect. Even I myself was awed by the difference.

Photobucket

Conclusion: I'd probably need to target my digestive system first. To stop the continuous outbreak on my chin area. Else no amount of elixir can help.

Shall do another review in another 1 to 2 months' time~!

Alright then, shall end this entry with a random eye makeup I did awhile back. Have got a makeover for a friend's friend tomorrow and I've gotta wake up at 8am. 8AM!!!! Madness madness.

Photobucket

Turning in already. Night peeps.

It's a girl's thing
