Reminiscence

I guess it's the age. The older we get, the more we feel like recapping the past where flashbacks of our younger hood days were.

Much as I've got more than a hundred songs, mostly quite new, in my ipod, it still didn't beat the fact that I'm always rejuvenating the playlist - with older songs. Somehow the phrase "I dunno what you people are listening to these days; the songs are meaningless compared to those during our generation" my parents said are seemingly happening to me as well it's most scary.

I really can't seem to appreciate recent songs in comparison to those I heard in my teenage years. Or is it because youngsters tend to relate themselves more to the songs and that I'm getting old and not relating myself to the meaning contained inside? Perhaps it's just that the industry is perpetually getting increasingly commercialised they produced more "one-stop songs"? Hmm?

You know looking back, old songs are indeed better!

Ok, this isn't considered as a song per se..

Believe me, I was quite a Kenny G fan! Guess I join the band not only because of peer pressure (:P) but because I wanted to lay my hands on the saxophone too. Ended up I played the clarinet (at least it looked like a soprano sax k~). On a positive note, at least I'm still in the woodwinds section (where flute is inside, together with saxophone too)!!

Can you imagine I was almost selected to play trumpet from the brass instead? That would be so f-up.

Band conductor: You can play the trumpet (mouthpiece) well. Ok, do you want to go brass or woodwinds?

Me: Wood.. erm, *whispers* you call them woodwinds, right?

BC: *nod*

Me: WOODWINDS!

BC: Ok, clarinet then.

Me: OK! (happy because 70% of the classmates were playing that. half sian because I wanted to go saxophone actually..)

These 2 were undoubtedly the ones I got to know only after watching "We got married". Pretty old songs but got me hooked like anything.

Can you tell me

Funny she appeared 876,573,316,076 times more different in We Got Married than she is on the stage. She sang so charismatically yet she talks like.. a duck? I dunno man. But I'm growing fonder of her nevertheless.

Hwang buin hwang buin hwang buin~ Oh ya btw, I spotted some similarities of her latest hit "Arisong" to Jolin Tsai "Real man". From the time difference, it should be Hwangbo copying Jolin.. I like them both anyway!
